What Other Companies Does Ford Own?

Ford Motor Company, based in Dearborn, Michigan, is one of the world’s largest automakers. The company has produced a wide range of vehicles, including cars, SUVs, crossovers, and trucks.

As of January 2019, Ford had over 12,000 employees working at 30 production facilities around the world. They have three car brands that operate under their automotive group. These brands are Ford, Lincoln, and Troller.

Ford

Ford is the original car brand that was owned by Ford Motor Company. It was founded by Henry Ford in 1903. Ford makes a variety of different cars and is the second-largest automaker in the United States.

Over the years, Ford has expanded its product line to include cars, trucks, SUVs, and other vehicles designed for a wide range of uses. Ford has also produced a number of other types of vehicles over the years, including motorboats and tractors.

Lincoln

Lincoln is a luxury car division of Ford Motor Company. It was founded in 1917 and bought by Ford in 1922. Lincoln is a brand that Ford Motor Company owns and operates. It offers high-quality, expensive cars.

Lincoln has a wide selection of luxury cars and limousines that are perfect for those who want to be seen as important and classy. It also creates limousines that are often used by high-ranking officials in the United States.

One of the most iconic features of the Lincoln brand is its large, elegant grille. The grille is often used as a way to convey emotion, such as anger or pride. In addition to its grille, Lincoln cars are often characterized by their long hoods and high-quality interiors.

Troller

Trollar is the Brazilian sub-brand of Ford. It was created in 1995 as an off-road vehicle manufacturer. Ford purchased the brand in 2007. The first Trollar models were the Escort and Sierra in the 1980s.

But subsequent models were all imported from Ford’s American dealerships. The Troller T4 has been featured in numerous rally races around the world, making it the flagship vehicle.

Why Did Ford Sell Jaguar And Land Rover?

In the early 1980s, Ford had built a reputation for building reliable cars and trucks. However, when it began competing with General Motors and Chrysler, it was losing sales.

In order to turn things around, it looked for ways to sell off it’s less profitable brands. This led to Ford selling Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata Motors in 2000 for $2.3 billion.

Ford had sold Jaguar and Land Rover without getting all of their rights to the brands. The sale didn’t include any intellectual property or technology that could have been used to further develop those brands.

The sale also gave Tata a large amount of debt that they could no longer afford to pay back. Lastly, Ford lost a significant amount of brand recognition as well as customer trust when they sold these brands.

Conclusion

Jaguar is an iconic British sport car maker. It was the brainchild of the British automobile pioneer and entrepreneur William Lyons, who founded the company in 1922.

Playful, elegant, and swift, Jaguar cars became the epitome of luxury sports cars. They also had a strong following from the worldwide rich and famous as well as from some of the wealthiest people in the world.

But, in 2008, Ford Automotive Division announced that Ford had sold Jaguar and Land Rover to Tata Motors. This news comes as a bit of a surprise, as these iconic brands were once among Ford’s most successful vehicles.
